The name George Janis is not just another name in the hairdressing industry- it is a family tradition! George took over his fathers hairdressing business that he built when he emigrated to New Zealand and opened his salon in The Grand Arcade in 1983.

George has established himself as a leading Wellington hairdresser with one simple philosophy that he applies both to his professional and personal life: "treat others the way you would like to be treated".

With the growth of the GJ Brand George has been able to channel his energy into motivating his staff and keeping them happy. He says “I don’t have staff that work for me, but with me. The staff at George Janis Hairdressing are our greatest asset”.
